Talking Women’s Rights during Pandemic

  • Datum

It has been over a year since our worlds changed due to the COVID-19 outbreak. On 23 February, we want to discuss how this pandemic has affected women’s lives globally and what potential risks it poses to pre-existing gender and other intersecting inequalities. This crisis is causing disruptions in the fight against gender-based and domestic violence, female genital mutilation, and child marriage. In the past year, we have seen setbacks in women’s health and reproductive rights. Together with international women’s rights defenders and activists, we will discuss the success stories and pitfalls in the fight for women’s rights during this crisis and what is to be done in the future.
